Candle Sales
The Celtic Academy Candle Sale is back on! The sale will run
from May 1 to May 29, just in time for Mother's Day. The
dancer (youth or adult) who sells the most candles will win a free
month of lessons! Order forms and flyers can be found on
the FOCA bulletin board at the studio. We offer five different
scented candles at $5 each. Most orders can be filled at the FOCA
window--if we have run out of stock of a particular scent, the order
should be filled within a week.

WORLD A’FAIR
PERFORMANCES:
The sign-up sheets are on the
bulletin board for the upcoming performances at the World A’Fair on
May 16, 17 & 18. You must sign-up by Thursday, May 8th.
The practices on Tuesday, May 13th and Thursday, may 15th
will be used to go over the show material. This year the dancers
will receive an Entertainer’s Pass to get in. Parents will have to
pay to enter the World A’Fair. They have gone back to the old
system for Workers and Entertainers.
Pre-Sale tickets are available in
the office for the World A’Fair. They are only available until
Monday, May 12th at 6:00pm. Please purchase your
tickets from the Celtic Academy as we will receive a portion of the
sales! What an easy fundraiser!
Many volunteers are needed the
weekend of the World A’Fair. As a member group of the United Irish,
we are asked to provide as many volunteers as possible. By
volunteering your time you will receive a Worker’s Pass to enter the
World A’Fair free of charge! The areas for volunteers are Ticket
Sales, Merchandise Sales, Pub Fry Sales and the Bar. Sign-up Sheets
are located on the bulletin board. Thank you for any time you are
able to provide to make the Ireland booth run smoothly at this
year’s World A’Fair!
NEW WIG VENDOR
INFORMATION:
We have chosen a new wig style/vendor for all our dancers. The wig
is the looser curl style and sold by Emerald Key. The wig name
is Maeve and comes in either junior ($85) or senior ($95) sizes. In
order to purchase these wigs you will need to be recolored by the
office since these wigs do not use the same color codes as the other
company. You may continue to use the wig you currently have, but if
needing a new one, we prefer this model/style.
Orders will now be
the responsibility of the dancer/family and can be done on line at www.emeraldkeyonline.com. If you have
any questions or concerns, please see Lynn Eviston in the office or
e-mail her at mjeviston@yahoo.com.
COMPETITIONS:
Practice! Practice!
Practice!
Remember to Practice at home also. Every bit of practice – done
properly – will make you stronger for competition.
Be sure to check the websites for the feiseanna (competitions) you
want to attend. Some competitions are open for registration and
they do reach their caps quickly. Remember they do not send
the information to the teachers so check their websites often!
